From Invisible to Unstoppable

Sunita Devi was a daily wage worker who had heard about government ration cards and insurance schemes but never knew how to access them. "I thought these schemes were not for people like me," she recalls.

After attending an AATMNIRBHAR Haqdarshak training session in her neighborhood, Sunita not only got her own Aadhaar-linked ration card but was trained to help 30 other women in her community access the same benefits.

Today, she runs a small savings group and has secured a micro-loan to start her own tailoring business. She calls herself "AATMNIRBHAR" — truly self-reliant.

A Father's Dream, Finally Fulfilled

Ramesh Kumar, a rickshaw driver, could not afford tuition for his three children. His eldest daughter Priya had nearly dropped out of school when AATMNIRBHAR opened a Paathshala center in their neighborhood.

Priya began attending free classes daily. Within six months, her grades improved so dramatically that her school teacher nominated her for a district-level science competition — which she won.

"I never imagined my daughter would stand on a stage and receive an award," Ramesh says, his eyes filled with emotion. Today, all three of his children attend the Paathshala center.

A Doctor's Visit She Could Never Afford

Kamla Bai had been experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing for over a year, but could not afford to visit a private doctor. Her family assumed it was just old age.

At our Community Lifeline Medical Camp in March 2026, she was screened by a volunteer doctor who immediately identified early signs of a heart condition. She was referred to a government hospital and received timely treatment — free of cost.

"Without that camp, I would have continued ignoring my pain," she says. "These people saved my life."

The Day She Was Finally Seen

Anita Sharma has been a MNREGA worker for 6 years — laying roads, digging drains, and doing hard labor for ₹220 a day. She had never once been recognized or celebrated for her work.

At AATMNIRBHAR's Women's Day 2025 honor ceremony, Anita was presented with a shawl, a certificate of recognition, and flowers — in front of 200 people. For the first time in her life, she heard applause for herself.

"Nobody had ever told me my work matters," she said, tears streaming down her face. "Today, I know it does."
